QUESTIONS / ANSWERS

BEFORE WE BUILD.

Straightforward answers to the questions most clients have before we start building.

How much does a website cost?
Pricing depends on what your business actually needs. A simple informational website is different from a larger site with additional pages, integrations, messaging tools, or custom features. Rather than forcing every business into the same package, I'll learn what you're trying to accomplish and provide a quote based on the scope of the project. I would rather price your project around what you actually need than charge you for things you don't. Depending on the size and scope of the project, flexible payment arrangements may also be available.
How long will my project take, and what do you need from me?
The timeline depends on the size of the project, the features involved, and how quickly I receive the information and content needed to complete it. For a website, I'll usually need basic information about your business, your services, contact information, branding or logo files if you have them, and any photos or content you want included. Before work begins, we'll discuss the scope and establish a reasonable target timeline. If you're not sure what to provide, that's okay — I'll help you identify what we need.
I'm not very tech-savvy. Can you help me figure out what I need?
Absolutely. That's part of the reason Tech Beard Digital Solutions exists. You shouldn't need to understand coding, hosting, DNS records, analytics, APIs, automation, or development terminology to get the technology your business needs. Start with the problem, not the technology. Tell me what you're trying to make easier for your business or your customers, and we'll figure out whether that means a website, an app, a custom business tool, automation, Google Business, email, analytics, text messaging, or something else. I'll explain what matters in normal language and help handle the technical side.
Will my website work on phones and tablets, and will I own it?
Yes. Websites are built with responsive design so the layout can adjust for desktop computers, tablets, and mobile devices. The goal is also to keep you in control of your business. Your domain, hosting account, professional email, Google services, analytics, and other third-party accounts can be created in your name or transferred to you. I don't want your business to be trapped simply because I helped set something up.
What ongoing costs should I expect for my website?
Domain names generally have a recurring registration or renewal cost charged by the domain provider. I can help you purchase and connect your domain, but it should ultimately remain under your ownership so you can manage future renewals directly. Hosting is not always an additional cost. Some small business websites can operate on a free hosting tier depending on the provider and the needs of the website. If your site later requires features or usage beyond the free option, the hosting provider may require a paid plan. Any third-party service with its own subscription or usage fee will be explained separately so you know what you're paying for and who you're paying.
Can you help with Google Business, professional email, analytics, and texting?
Yes. I can help with digital essentials beyond the website itself, including Google Business Profile, professional business email, domains, analytics, account setup, and text-message tools. That can include connecting email addresses such as hello@yourbusiness.com, setting up Google Analytics so you can better understand website traffic, organizing your Google Business Profile, and setting up tools such as missed-call text-back or promotional text messaging. Any ongoing fees charged by an email, phone, messaging, hosting, or other third-party provider are separate from my setup services.
What happens after my website or project launches?
You won't suddenly be left on your own. Website projects include a 30-day post-launch satisfaction period for bugs and reasonable adjustments connected to the original project. If something from the agreed project isn't working correctly, I'll work with you to make it right. Optional ongoing support can also be available for websites, apps, business systems, and other digital tools. That may include maintenance, monitoring, small updates, troubleshooting, improvements, and guidance as your business changes. Larger redesigns, new pages, major new features, or substantial expansions would normally be treated as separate project work.
Do you build apps, custom business tools, and automation too?
Yes. Tech Beard Digital Solutions isn't limited to websites. I can build custom apps and digital products around problems your business is actually trying to solve, including customer portals, dashboards, internal tools, booking experiences, custom forms, workflow automation, customer-management tools, and other purpose-built systems. If an off-the-shelf tool already solves the problem well, I'll tell you. If your business needs something more specific, we can talk about building it. START WITH THE PROBLEM. WE'LL FIGURE OUT THE TECHNOLOGY.
What if my question isn't listed here?
That's completely fine. You don't need to figure everything out before contacting me. Tell me about your business, what you're trying to accomplish, and where you're getting stuck. We'll figure out the technical part together and decide what makes the most sense for you.

STILL WONDERING?

YOU DON'T HAVE TO KNOW EVERYTHING.

That's kind of the point. Tell me about your business, what you're trying to do, and where you're getting stuck. We'll figure out the technology from there.
